Memorial Day

I hope everyone  is enjoying their weekend and has a Memorial Day filled with family and friends. I spent last week in Arizona, so I didn’t post, but I was so inspired by some amazing southwest sights and I’m looking forward to sharing some of them very soon.

A quick side note: I’m so happy (and flattered) that Knock Off Decor featured my West Elm inspired headboard last week. Thank you, Beckie!

A Cape May Weekend

Last weekend, my husband and I had a chance to see one of his closest friends get married. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony with a laid back style that reflected the couple’s taste and the feel of Cape May.

Organized Cooking

After I graduated from college, I started cooking more frequently. And, I’m lucky enough to have lots of people in my family who have passed down recipes so my collection grew quickly. For a while I kept my recipes on top of the fridge, then in a drawer, then in a folder, and eventually in a three-ring binder. Recently I’ve outgrown my 1 inch three-ring binder and had to move into a larger one. Here’s how I keep all of my recipes, and in turn, my kitchen semi-organized.

Homemade Deodorant {six ingredients}

Now, the idea of rubbing petro-chemicals (found in Tom’s of Maine) into my skin has started to bother me. So, after finding a recipe for homemade deodorant on Apartment Therapy last week, I decided to give it a try.

15 minute dinner {broiled salmon + spring mix salad}

This dinner is an absolute staple in my household. It’s healthy, satisfying and only takes 15 minutes to put together. The broiled salmon gives you omega 3 fatty acids and protein. The spring mix adds fiber and vitamin A and you get more omega 3’s, B vitamins and vitamin E from the pine nuts.
