Pass the water please.

While many people have refrigerators that also act as water dispensers, we are still a Brita pitcher household. This means a couple of things; 1) the pitcher is convenient to have at the dinner table, but unattractive and 2) you have to remember to refill it. Well, #1 sort of annoys me and with regard to #2, I’m admittedly the drink-the-last-drop-and-leave-the-Brita-empty culprit in our house. So, I decided to turn my last screw-top bottle of white wine into a quick and cute bottle for serving water at the dinner table.

A Cape May Weekend

Last weekend, my husband and I had a chance to see one of his closest friends get married. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony with a laid back style that reflected the couple’s taste and the feel of Cape May.

$600 Makeover {Kitchen}

When my husband and I bought our house two years ago, we knew that we were going to completely renovate the kitchen. But, because our house is quite a fixer-upper, we didn’t know when a kitchen renovation was going to take place. In the interim, we had to do something to make it livable. With a budget set at $600, we picked the most important and economical features to fix. This meant that appliances, counter tops and cabinets were off the list. But, we made a substantial visual impact by changing paint, fixtures, lighting, and flooring. And, we made a substantial functional impact by creating a work space from a previously unused area.

Simple Spring Centerpiece {lilacs}

One of my lovely neighbors gave me a basket full of lilacs the other day, as well as carte blanche to cut lilacs from her yard anytime. With centerpieces this easy to make, I’m certain I’ll be two yards over with a basket and shears fairly often.
